Benny's Hub and Companion privacy
Updated October 4, 2026 · NARBE LLC
This policy covers the Benny's Hub website and Benny's Hub Companion for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. The Companion provides switch-accessible playback controls, local app-data storage and optional calendar and news connections. The Companion has no advertising, analytics SDK, or developer-operated user account system. External services used by the website have their own data practices, described below.
Information used on your device
- Playback: the Companion uses URLs and tab/window identifiers for streams launched from the Hub, media elements, player controls, playback state and switch input. This lets it operate the player, return to your Hub and update supported episode links. It does not collect a general browser history. When a streaming service shows profile choices, the Companion can display those names in its control bar so you can select a profile. It does not store the profile names.
- Preferences: scan timing, input sensitivity, scan mode, voice preferences and source permissions are used to personalize controls. Temporary playback and scan state is stored in browser session storage. News preferences, the toolbar speech preference and an optional calendar address use extension local storage; they are not synchronized through Chrome or Edge account sync by this extension.
- Calendar: if you connect a private Google Calendar iCal address, the extension stores that address locally and retrieves the calendar from Google. The address is an access credential. Calendar data can contain names, event descriptions, locations and other personal information. The extension processes it to display your week in Day Hub. It does not send your calendar to NARBE LLC.
- Other app data: a storage-capable Companion also stores Keyboard vocabulary and preferences, Streaming titles, episodes, progress and preferences, and Day Hub weather location preferences. These records stay in extension local storage and are not synchronized through a browser account. The website keeps a working copy; Companion can restore it after Hub site data is cleared. Migration keeps conflicting records from other Hub origins as recovery archives included in app backup exports. These backups do not include provider passwords, sign-ins or the private calendar address.
- Journal: with a storage-capable Companion, journal entries and drafts are automatically stored in extension local storage for this browser profile. The Hub interface can save, retrieve, restore and delete these records through a fixed set of Companion actions. The extension does not upload them to NARBE LLC, Google Drive or browser account sync. Normal updates to the same extension preserve this data; uninstalling the extension or deleting its browser profile removes it. Export a separate backup through Companion & data → My data → Journal → Export journal before removing it or changing installations.
- News: when enabled, the extension retrieves public feeds. An optional place name supplied for local news is sent to Google News as a search term.
Website storage and external services
The Hub website keeps working copies of streaming titles, episode links, recent playback, search history, personal vocabulary and settings in that browser's website storage. With a storage-capable Companion, the app-specific Keyboard, Streaming and Day Hub records described above are also saved in extension storage; otherwise they remain website-local. With older Companion versions, Journal continues using website storage. When a storage-capable Companion connects, existing journal entries and drafts are merged into its local storage; a legacy website copy is retained during migration. Clearing Hub website data does not remove the Companion's saved journal. The public installation starts with an empty streaming library and journal. Exported backups are separate snapshots saved to the location you choose; later changes require another export.
The Benny's Hub website uses Google Analytics to estimate visitor numbers and understand which games and tools are opened and how long the Hub, games and tools are used in the foreground. Google Analytics receives fixed game/tool identifiers and names, opening counts and foreground durations, and uses cookies or similar identifiers plus browser and device information for visitor estimates. Our custom analytics events do not include typed text, journal entries, calendar contents, or private streaming titles and URLs. The Companion extension itself does not include analytics. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Keyboard predictions use a bundled local dictionary and words and phrases learned on your device. Typed prediction text is not sent to an AI service. Speech output uses your browser or operating system's selected voice; those voice services may have their own network and privacy behavior.
Optional weather searches send a place name to Open-Meteo's geocoding service, and weather requests send the selected coordinates to Open-Meteo. Optional movie metadata searches send titles and metadata identifiers through NARBE LLC's Cloudflare Worker to TMDB. No shared TMDB credential is delivered to the browser. Image requests go to the relevant image host.
YouTube Search uses YouTube API Services. When you search, your search terms and a verification token are sent to NARBE LLC's YouTube search service hosted on Cloudflare; that service retrieves results from YouTube. Google receives requests for player software, thumbnails and videos. YouTube may serve advertisements and use cookies or similar technology on your device. These are external services, even though the keyboard's predictions run locally. See the Google Privacy Policy. By using YouTube Search, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
YouTube Search uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent automated abuse. Cloudflare processes browser, device and connection information, including IP address, to issue a verification token. See the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Policy. YouTube and Cloudflare services load when you open YouTube Search. You can stop using the feature and clear site data to remove local search history.
Streaming services receive the video links you open and handle their own sign-ins, cookies, playback and subscriptions. The Companion does not read account passwords or authentication cookies. GitHub Pages, Cloudflare, feed providers, media services and hosts of fonts, images and software libraries receive normal connection information such as your IP address and requested resource. Their policies apply to their services.
The supplied TMDB Worker configuration disables application request logging and observability, and uses request information for rate limiting and public metadata caching. This statement applies to the TMDB Worker, not the separate YouTube search service or infrastructure providers. Service providers may retain operational or security records under their own policies. Do not include private information in public search requests. Contact us with questions about a request sent to our services.
Use and sharing
Information is used to provide the features you choose and understand overall website usage. NARBE LLC does not sell personal data, use it for advertising, use it for credit decisions, or transfer it for unrelated purposes. The extension has no endpoint that uploads your journals, calendar contents, switch history or personal library to NARBE LLC. Data may be sent directly to the services described above when you use those features.
The use of information received through browser APIs is limited to the Companion's stated functionality and follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, and Microsoft Edge Add-ons data-use requirements.
Your choices and deletion
Turn streaming and news access on or off together in Companion settings. The page lists the supported services and their uses. Calendar access is managed separately. Remove a calendar there to delete its stored address and revoke the extension's calendar access; invalidate a shared private calendar link in Google Calendar if you need to revoke the link itself. Uninstalling the extension removes its local storage; temporary session state is cleared when the browser session ends. Local website data remains until you clear it or the browser removes it. Use Companion & data → My data to deliberately clear an app’s saved data, including its Companion store and working website copy when connected. Clearing only Hub site data in browser settings does not clear Companion-managed records; reconnecting Companion restores them. Removing the extension does not remove website storage or exported backup files. Export important app data before clearing storage. Journal backups include completed entries and drafts; restores merge entries rather than replacing the entire journal. Other app restores require caregiver confirmation before applying the backed-up values. Backup files may contain personal information and are not encrypted by the Hub. The website's offline cache contains public application assets, not authenticated feeds or streaming video. Clearing local data does not delete records held by third-party services; use their privacy controls for that.
